Export folder/item content to a file

Similarly to Microsoft Outlook OutShare Web Access Engine provides the possibility to export synchronized and public folder content to Comma Separated Values (.csv), VCard* (.vcf) and VCalendar* (.vcs) type files. This feature is relevant when you need to use Outlook information in other programs (e.g. Microsoft Excel), share it with your colleague, or use it to synchronize with your other devices like iPod, PDA, Palm, cell phone, etc. You can export the content of a whole folder or of the separate items.

 

  1. Right-click the folder you need to export on the Navigation Pane and select Export Folder Content… on the shortcut menu or select this folder and click the Export to a File button on OutShare toolbar.

  2. Select the type of file - Comma Separated Values (.csv), VCard* (.vcf) or VCalendar* (.vcs) - to export the folder content to. File type that is unavailable for the selected folder will be displayed as inactive (disabled).

  1. Navigate to the folder containing the item you need to export on the Navigation Pane.

  2. Right-click the needed item on the center pane and select Export Item Content… on the shortcut menu, or open (double-click) this item and click the Export to a File button on OutShare toolbar.

  3. Select the type of file - Comma Separated Values (.csv), VCard* (.vcf) or VCalendar* (.vcs) - to export the item content to. File type that is unavailable to for the selected item will be displayed as inactive (disabled).

  4. Click the button.

 

Afterwards the content of the relevant folder/item is exported to a file or a group of files of type you have selected. The created file(s) is/are compressed (zipped) before its/their download. Export process further goes the same way as a common file download. By default the downloaded file is saved on the Desktop; yet you can select a different location to save this file in on the standard 'Save As' form.

* Note: You should not export items created in multiple languages or in a language that is not supported by your system code page to a file type that does not support Unicode.
